About Presenters

Dakota Sharp

AuD, CCC-A

Dakota M. Sharp, Au.D., CCC-A, is a clinical assistant professor at the University of North Carolina- Chapel Hill and pediatric cochlear implant audiologist at the Children's Cochlear Implant Center at UNC. He received his undergraduate and Doctor of Audiology degrees from James Madison University and completed his externship with Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. He is passionate about training and supporting the next generation of audiologists, which led to the creation of On The Ear: An Audiology Podcast, where he interviews a wide variety of experts across the spectrum of communication.

J. Riley DeBacker

AuD, PhD

Riley DeBacker is a research audiologist and postdoctoral fellow at the National Center for Rehabilitative Auditory Research in Portland, OR. His research focuses on predictive statistical modeling of ototoxic hearing loss related to treatments for cancer and HIV. Riley also serves as the lead of the Risk Modeling core of the International Ototoxicity Management Group and is a member of the AAA Guidelines and Strategic Documents committee.
